Response to release of Conference Board report on need for infrastructure investment.
On April 7, 2011, the Conference Board of Canada released a report titled Canada's Electricity Infrastructure: Building a Case for Investment. Funded by the Canadian Electricity Association (CEA), the report confirms that our nation's electricity system is in need of significant investment in order to renew, rebuild and replace some of its critical infrastructure and meet Canada's future electricity needs and objectives. The study asserts that Canada's electricity grid has suffered a long period of underinvestment. Much of the energy infrastructure in Canada is aging, and governments have not kept pace with new investments.
